Senior High Voltage Electrical Engineer Full Time

Since 1982, our client has been shaping skylines and powering industries as one of Africa’s most respected multidisciplinary engineering firms, with projects stretching across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

They’re now on the hunt for a Senior High Voltage Engineer to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg. In this role, you’ll take the lead on HV/MV projects (11kV–400kV)—steering everything from concept and design through to execution and commissioning. Expect a mix of technical excellence, client engagement, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the chance to mentor upcoming engineers.

If you’re a Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng registered professional with 8–10+ years’ experience (ideally with Eskom or municipal exposure), and you’re ready to spark big impact in the HV/MV space, this is the role for you.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng / BSc Eng / BTech)
• Professionally registered with ECSA (Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng)
• 8–10+ years of post-graduate experience with exposure to multidisciplinary projects
• Solid technical background in HV/MV systems, protection schemes, and system studies
• Experience working with Eskom, municipalities, and within substation construction environments
• Proficient in MS Office and MS Project (with AutoCAD/MicroStation as an added advantage)
• Skilled in using DIgSILENT or similar power system modelling software
• Beneficial experience with PLS-CADD, SCADA, and energy management integration
• Strong knowledge of PMBOK, the OHS Act, SANS/IEC codes, and other industry standards
