Senior Application Support Engineer – Client Platform Full Time

Our client is seeking a technically strong Senior Application Support Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of enterprise client deployments and complex production issues. This is not a traditional help-desk role; the successful candidate will work across C#, Vue.js, Electron, .NET, Windows, Linux, networking and Azure observability to diagnose problems in environments outside of direct organisational control.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise clients experiencing application and deployment issues.
• Own remote support cases from initial triage through verified resolution and provide clear written root-cause summaries.
• Lead remote installations, upgrades and post-deployment validation within corporate environments.
• Diagnose issues across the application, desktop client, server application and surrounding infrastructure.
• Read and interpret C# application code, stack traces and logs to identify probable root causes.
• Diagnose Vue.js and Electron issues using browser DevTools, including renderer/main-process failures, IPC issues, packaging, code signing and auto-updates.
• Troubleshoot the .NET Server Connect application across Windows and Linux environments.
• Investigate firewalls, proxies, certificate trust chains, TLS, allowlisting and network-path issues.
• Use Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to investigate telemetry and operational issues.
• Develop PowerShell and/or Bash scripts to automate recurring diagnostics.
• Distinguish between configuration, environment and genuine product issues and escalate with structured reproduction information where required.
• Identify recurring problems and drive permanent improvements through product changes, documentation or installation processes.
• Contribute to small bug fixes and stability improvements across C#, Vue.js/Electron and, secondarily, Angular.
• Participate in occasional escalation support for confirmed client incidents outside standard South African business hours.
• Contribute to Azure networking discussions and feed recurring technical issues into engineering planning.

Essential Requirements
• 5+ years’ experience in technical support, solutions engineering, platform engineering or a related technical role.
• At least 2 years’ client-facing experience.
• Hands-on C# experience sufficient to read, debug and interpret application code, stack traces and logs.
• Strong Vue.js and Electron diagnostic experience.
• Experience debugging Electron main/renderer processes, IPC, packaging and auto-update issues.
• Working knowledge of Angular, including components, services, routing and state management, with the ability to make small bug fixes.
• Comfortable working from the command line across both Windows and Linux.
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting .NET applications in Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Proven experience diagnosing enterprise networking issues involving firewalls, proxies, certificates, PKI, TLS, allowlisting and network paths.
• Proficiency with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Experience conducting remote installations and technical troubleshooting sessions with enterprise IT teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take ownership of complex issues and drive them through to resolution.

Advantageous
• Azure networking experience, including VNets, NSGs, private endpoints, Azure DNS and Application Gateway.
• Electron packaging, code signing and auto-update experience.
• Linux administration, including systemd, journald and package management.
• PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
• Enterprise PKI and certificate management.
• Azure Entra ID, SAML or OIDC/SSO experience.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104 or AZ-204.
